Roy returned to football for the 2022-23 season, after a six-year break. He took up the position of goalkeeper (which he had never tried before) in the Juniors C2 team, and in 2023-24 progressed with his team-mates to Juniors B2.
During this season he also began to undertake referee qualifications, and officiated several matches.
